Putting dogs on hats and hats on dogs. A structured six-panel trucker built for a dog's head — ear openings, an adjustable chinstrap and side toggles hold it in place, so it stays put while your dog actually moves.

Most dog headwear is a novelty item. It fits nothing, photographs badly, and lives in a drawer after one afternoon. This one is made to be worn.

How it stays on

1. Gently pull each ear through the straps on the sides of the hat.
2. Fasten the chinstrap under the chin, leaving about two fingers of space — snug, never tight.
3. Slide the side toggles up to lock the fit.

Adjust the ear straps up, down, forward or back so they sit comfortably under the ears without compressing them. Every dog's head is shaped differently, and the straps are there to work around that.

Sizing

Dog sizes S, M and L. Take two measurements and check both against the size guide:

• Head: straight across the top of the head between the ears — not including the ears or any fluff.
• Neck: around the neck just below the ears.

If your dog falls between sizes, size up. The straps adjust down further than most.

Getting your dog used to it

Introduce it indoors for a few minutes at a time with treats, and keep the first few sessions short. Most dogs settle quickly once the chinstrap is set correctly. Never leave a hat on an unsupervised dog.

Care

Spot clean with cool water and mild soap, then air dry on something hat-shaped. Do not machine wash or tumble dry — that is how a structured hat loses its front panel.
